It provides basic indicators on various aspects of victimization, including households victimized by criminal offenses, type of criminal offense, tangible losses of crimes, etc. A special questionnaire was designed in accordance with UN standards and recommendations in the field of victimization statistics while taking the Palestinian particularities into account. Version 1.1 dataset for public distribution Victimized Households Victimized Persons crime [5.1] PCBS conducted the twice round of the Victimization Survey 1999: data collection was conducted during the 4th quarter of 1999 (1999-04-10- 1999-07-10). Six teams of interviewers, three in the West Bank and three in the Gaza Strip carried out the data collection. Each team consisted of a supervisor and two interviewers. Fieldwork teams were distributed to different districts according to sample allocation. All field staff received a training session combining general theoretical and practical components. Interviewers, supervisors and editors for the survey were selected from those who worked on the Labour Force Survey. Fieldwork procedures and organization were designed to ensure adequate supervision and the collection of high quality data. To this end, several quality control measures were used through out fieldwork. Sample survey data [ssd] ·Households and persons Victimized by criminal offense, type of criminal offense ·Crime location. ·Perpetrator of crime ·Crime reporting. ·Reported crime underwent legal proceedings. ·Physical harm and tangible losses of criminal offenses. ·Who party prone to tangible losses Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics The sampling frame consisted of a master sample of enumeration areas (EAs) selected from the Population Housing and Establishment Census 1997, the master sample consists of area units of relatively equal size (number of households), these units have been used as primary sampling units (PSUs). Sample Design: The sample is a two-stage stratified cluster random sample. Adjusted weight is important to reduce bias resulting from non-responses. Data entry: At this stage, data was entered into the computer using a data entry template designed in Access. The data entry program was prepared to satisfy a number of requirements such as: ·Duplication of the questionnaires on the computer screen. ·Logical and consistency check of data entered. ·Possibility for internal editing of question answers. ·Maintaining a minimum of digital data entry and fieldwork errors. ·User friendly handling. ·Possibility of transferring data into another format to be used and analyzed using other statistical analytic systems such as SPSS. The response rate is 92.5% in palestine where 7.5% is not completed. Data of this survey affected by sampling errors due to use of the sample and not a complete enumeration. Therefore, certain differences are expected in comparison with the real values obtained through censuses. Variance were calculated for the most important indicators, the variance table is attached with the final report. There is no problem to disseminate results at the national level and regional level (West Bank, Gaza Strip). General Statistics Law No. (5) for Year 2000 Article (17) 1.
