These factors demand comprehensive and high quality statistics. \n\nIn this contest PCBS decided to conduct a special Energy Consumption in Transport Survey to provide high quality data about energy consumption by type, expenditure on maintenance and insurance for vehicles, and questions on vehicles motor capacity and year of production.\n\nThe survey aimed to provide data on energy consumption by transport sector and also on the energy consumption by the type of vehicles and its motor capacity and year of production.","time_periods":[{"start":"2014-01-01","end":"2014-12-31","cycle":""}],"coll_dates":[{"start":"2015-06-01","end":"2015-06-30","cycle":""}],"nation":[{"name":"Palestine","abbreviation":"PSE"}],"geog_coverage":"Palestine","analysis_unit":"Vehicles","universe":"All the operating vehicles in Palestine in 2014.","data_kind":"Sample survey data [ssd]","notes":"Number of Vehicles\nEnergy Consumption in Transport Sector\nEnergy Efficiency in Transport Sector\nInsurance and Maintenance on Vehicles"},"method":{"data_collection":{"data_collectors":[{"name":"Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics","abbreviation":"PCBS","affiliation":"Palestinian National Authority "}],"sampling_procedure":"Target Population: \nAll the operating vehicles in Palestine in 2014.\n\n2.1Sample Frame\nA list of the number of the operating vehicles in Palestine in 2014, they are broken down by governorates and vehicle types, this list was obtained from Ministry of transport.\n\n2.2.1 Sample size\nThe sample size is 6,974 vehicles.\n\n2.2.2 Sampling Design \nit is stratified random sample, and in some of the small size strata the quota sample was used to cover them.\n\nThe method of reaching the vehicles sample was through :\n1-reaching to all the dynamometers (the centers for testing the vehicles)\n2-selecting a random sample of vehicles by type of vehicle, model, fuel type and engine capacity","coll_mode":["Face-to-face [f2f]"],"research_instrument":"The design of the questionnaire was based on the experiences of other similar countries in energy statistics subject to cover the most important indicators for energy statistics in transport sector, taking into account Palestine's particular situation.","coll_situation":"Field work activities started on 01\/06\/2015 and ended on 30\/06\/2015.
